東山を借景に琵琶湖疏水の水を取り入れた京都の文化的景観の一部を成す無鄰菴を会場に、多様な京都の水風景を地上から地下まで一望するようなドローイングによる展覧会を行います。

阪神淡路大震災後の京都市街地の地下構造を把握するための調査を応用、京都盆地を3Dグラフィックスとして表すと共に、それに基づいて地下水賦存量を解明、豊富な地下水の存在を「京都水盆」と命名した楠見晴重さんにその経緯と実態についてお話しいただきます。

京都の文化的景観の調査研究に携わる惠谷浩子さんのナビゲーションのもと、無鄰菴の庭園を成す琵琶湖疏水の水路網を巡って、近代日本が設計した地上の水の流れと地下水との関係性を歩きながら紐解きます。
【文化的景観とは】⽂化財保護法の⼀部改正により加わった文化財のカテゴリーのひとつ。その⼟地ならではの⾃然環境をもとに、⼈々が独⾃の生活・⽣業を営んできた結果としてできた⾵景そのものを⽂化財として捉える。

Murin-an is the villa of Aritomo Yamagata (built in 1896), Japan’s leading statesmen during the Meiji (1868-1912), and the garden was designed by master gardener Jihei Ogawa VII. It is also known as the Western-style house where the “Murinan Conference” was held in 1903, where Yamagata met with fellow statesman Itō Hirobumi to prepare for the Russo-Japanese War. The garden incorporates the Sosui Canal of Lake Biwa.

Ground Water of Kyoto for a Thousand Years

Prof. Harushige Kusumi has applied his research to understand the underground structure of the urban area of Kyoto after the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake in 1995 and has created a 3D graphic representation of the Kyoto Basin. He will talk about the background of this research and the actual conditions of the groundwater, which he named “Kyoto Water Basin” (conducted in Japanese).

Isabelle Daëron and Yoshiko Nagai will give a talk at Seikosha, a bookshop in Kyoto, where we had an exhibition and talk on when we published of 'Water Calling' in 2023. We will talk about the production of ‘Wandering MAP’, a comprehensive view of Kyoto's underground and above ground.

Murin-an est la villa d'Aritomo Yamagata (construite en 1896), l'homme d'État le plus important du Japon pendant l'ère Meiji (1868-1912). Le jardin a été conçu par le maître jardinier Jihei Ogawa VII. En 1903, dans ses murs, s’est tenue la « Conférence de Murinan », au cours de laquelle Yamagata a rencontré son homologue Itō Hirobumi pour préparer la guerre russo-japonaise. Le jardin est alimenté depuis sa création par le canal Sosui du lac Biwa.

Les eaux souterraines à Kyoto depuis 1000 ans

Harushige Kusumi a mené des recherches sur la structure souterraine de la zone urbaine de Kyoto après le grand tremblement de terre de Hanshin-Awaji en 1995. Ce travail a abouti à une modélisation de la nappe phréatique de Kyoto. Lors de cette conférence, Kusumi sensei présentera le contexte de cette recherche et les conditions actuelles de la nappe phréatique qu'il a baptisée « bassin hydrographique de Kyoto » (en japonais).

『風景とデザイン― 自然のあり方から都市を考える 』

スピーカー（敬称略）： 大西麻貴（建築家・o+h共同主宰）、惠谷浩子（奈良文化財研究所）、イザベル・ダエロン
土地特有の自然資源や地形は人々の生活文化にどのような影響をもたらしてきたのでしょうか。イザベル・ダエロンと同じく、建築家の大西麻貴さんはそれぞれ土地の特徴を生かした建築・デザインプロジェクトに携わってきました。日本各地の文化的景観の調査を専門に行ってきた惠谷浩子さんとともに、自然と共存しながら文化を育んできた人々の営みに注目し、技術とのバランスを保ちながら都市に住むことについて話し合いました。
様々な国、地域での公共建築の設計やデザインプロジェクトを行うにあたって、入念なリサーチを行うというデザイナー・イザベル・ダエロンさん、建築家・大西麻貴さん、奈良文化財研究所研究員・惠谷浩子さん。土地の持つ風景や自然資源、それをもとに人々が培ってきた文化を十分理解することによって、自分の住む街が唯一無二であり、愛おしく感じられてくる。実践を通じてそのことを再確認する三人のお話に会場からも質問や感想が向けられました。

土地の自然と歴史に基づいた文化形成を考える「文化的景観」の調査研究、またWater Callingの書籍の監修をしてくださった奈良文化財研究所の惠谷浩子さんによるウォーキングツアー。かつて無数の湧水と川が流れていた東山界隈で今は見えなくなった水の流れを探りました。その痕跡を見つけるための手がかりとは。
京都・東山界隈の江戸時代の地図と現在の地図と重ね合わせ、同じく江戸時代にはじめてできたという観光ガイドを見ながら、当時あったはずの川を探しながら歩いていきました。井戸や橋、マンホールなど水の存在を感じさせる目標に気をつけながら、江戸時代から続く観光メインストリート、清水寺に向かう道を登り、水の流れていない橋を渡り、やきものの登り窯があった谷底を望み、そこに流れていたはずの水を想像し、マンホールや暗渠を見つけては耳を傾けました。
