その後、各地での水にまつわるプロジェクトの経験を生かし、京都の地下水が溜まる地形がどのようにできたのか、地下水はどこからやってくるのか、人々はどんな技術や道具を使って生活をし、今私たちは水とどのように暮らしているのか、そういった場面を表す20点のドローイングを制作しました。こうして人々に水の存在を問いかける共通の物語をつなぎ合わせた本が出来上がっていったのです。
In October 2022, Isabelle Daëron travelled to Kyoto on a research trip. It was initiated and planned by curator Yoshiko Nagai in order to trace the history of Kyoto's groundwater, the specific features of its landscape and climate, and the way in which its inhabitants have used this resource. Isabelle then produced 20 drawings depicting invisible mechanisms that are sometimes thousands of years old such as the formation of the water table, the infiltration of water into the ground, the techniques and tools that inhabitants use on a daily basis, and the channelling of certain rivers.
The book is structured around a common narrative that suggests translating the presence of water into onomatopoeia.
En octobre 2022, Isabelle Daëron a séjourné à Kyoto, où elle a effectué un voyage de recherche. Celui ci a été organisé par l'éditrice et commisaire d’exposition Yoshiko Nagai afin de retracer une histoire des eaux souterraines de Kyoto, les spécificités de ses paysages et son climat, ainsi que la manière dont les habitants ont utilisé cette ressource.
Isabelle a ensuite réalisé 20 dessins représentant des mécanismes invisibles et parfois millénaires tels que la formation de la nappe phréatique, l’infiltration de l’eau dans le sol, les techniques et les outils que les habitants utilisent quotidiennement, ou encore la canalisation de certaines rivières.
Le livre est structuré par un récit commun proposant de traduire la présence de l'eau en onomatopées.
